AMERICA

Columbus sailed the ocean blue
and found there were quite a few
people who already had their homes
made along the ocean’s shore for eons.

He took himself right back to Spain
and declared he found a new world
in which they could plunder and gain
with their monied friends and all that reign.

Now look at us, bewildered by our state.
America is a vast expanse of land
that white men exterminated and enslaved.
Columbus was no hero; they were immigrants all.
